Honestly, I don't really ever crave Korean fried chicken, so I don't eat it often. However, Chivago is really good. Like, seriously solid. Their chicken is perfectly fried, and the flavors are SO delicious. My friends and I had a fun time eating chicken and drinking together, and the vibe is also great! I've heard a lot of good things about Chivago prior to coming, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I don't remember which chickens we ordered, but I'd say it's a safe bet to just go with their most popular.

I was craving some Korean fried chicken after being a potato down the street all afternoon at King Spa and this definitely hit the spot! Chicken was nice and crispy with so much saucy goodness.

Doesn't look like much when you past, but I was practically dying of hunger so i popped in. the definition of a hole-in-the-wall. Beer comes cold with a cold glass. 9/10 customer service. 10/10 Corn cheese is at the right taste, not too sweet. 8.6/10 Spicy seafood soup is not powdery like elsewhere. You can literally taste the sweet of the broth. 9/10 juicy inside, crunchy outside. I prefer it crunchier.

My friend was raving about Chivago kfc and brought us here to try it out ourselves. We came on a Friday night and it was pretty empty. Our waitress was really nice. A couple of people started out with some beer. We had the corn cheese which was devoured so quickly I didn't have a chance to take a pic. We ordered the Chivago, sweet & spicy, Kalbi, and spicy soy garlic. They all come with fries but we upgraded one order to onion rings. The fries and onion rings are delicious. The batter is so light and crispy and the seasoning is flavorful. From favorite to least favorite, spicy soy garlic, sweet & spicy, Chivago, and Kalbi. I want to try the Spicy Crispy next. The price is a little on the higher side compared to other kfc places but they definitely win in the presentation category.

My mom had told me about Chivago and how I should check it out, and I didn't really have an occassion to -- but I was finally able to check it out recently, and I was impressed with Chivago! Typically, I only go to KFC restaurants that have a name in Korea (bbq, Kyochon, Chuhgatjip, Pelicana, etc) and have very little trust in locally owned chicken joints, but this place was wrong. We ordered the scallion chicken & yangneom chicken, and both chickens were amazing! I loved the sauce that the scallion chicken came with, giving it a refreshing taste and paired perfectly well with the greasy chicken. The yangnyeom chicken definitely had a spicy kick to it, but it was really good and it was awfully similar to the yangnyeom chicken I had back in Korea. I had a grand time, and I already know I'll be back here for some chimaek after stressful days at work. Chivago is definitely worth visiting and is a signature in the DFW K-town area!

I had a craving for Korean BBQ wings and Chivago did not disappoint. It was easy to place an order online but I had to call to confirm what is included with the chicken since it was not detailed on their site. I was told that the wings come with fries and depending on the count of wings it comes with 1 or 2 sides of pickled radish. You can upgrade for sweet potato fries, onion rings, or other sides. She said the regular chicken entrees do not come with fries. When I arrived to pick up my food, my food was hot and ready! It smelled great. To my surprise they also included a small chocolate pie slice with a happy face sticker. This made me smile! I don't usually eat many fries but these were really tasty and perfectly complimented the meal. Crisp on outside, fluffy inside and not greasy. The wings had a good amount of sauce and of course the pickled radish was a great mate. It was worth the drive for takeout but next time I will dine in. No one was there eating but they had many takeout bags waiting for pickup. A good sign. Clean restaurant.

Chivago is our go to for chicken nights with beer. This place is great to go eat in the chicken is crispy and the soy garlic sauce is amazing. The fire sauce is a little much for me but my husband loves it. We tired the green onion chicken but this wasn't anything special literally same sauce with chicken with a mountain of green onions on top. The chicken has big pieces fired from a whole chicken- where the wings are small buffalo wing style. Go enjoy a nice beer bong with some awesome wings!!

not too bad.. but not the best either There's not much to say haha I think out of all that we ordered I enjoyed the soy garlic one because the sauce was mixed with some serano pepper and so there was a kick of spice. When you order the wings it comes with fries in the middle so don't order extra fries. The waiter was kind enough to warn us about that or else we would of have fries overload The spicy one wasn't too spicy. I am someone who loves spicy food so it was good enough spice for me. The sweet and spicy one was probably the most basic and meh option. it wasn't bad but just wasn't unique to where I would get it again. They were crunchy but when it cooled down it just got really gooey and not as appetizing so eat fast haha Its not too bad to try them out but I had better korean chicken in the Dallas area.

Chivago Chicken & Beer is yet another fried chicken place rotating out of Royal Ln Korea Town. If you know what I'm talking about, then you know of the many fried chicken places that have taken 2558 Royal Ln - each one better than the last, and each one in a market more welcoming than the last. As KFC, Korean Fried Chicken, becomes more and more commonplace, this one might be it, the one to break the 2558 curse. I Googled Chivago and was surprised that there was one in the center of Ho Chi Minh City. In that crowded landscape of motorbikes and cheap street food, Chivago held their own. The Vietnamese raved about the chicken sauces and oddly enough, the japchae. Of course, HCMC is HCMC and Dallas is Dallas. Nonetheless, I was excited. On a rainy Monday, the established chicken place was closed, so our group decided to give this new place a try. A phone call later I found myself to an empty store. This was of course predicted, since they literally just opened. Everything is so clean I thought to myself. I imagined what it would be like once customers started coming in - unexpected since I associate such images to Carrollton, but stranger things have happened. After some monetary exchange, I took the to-go chicken back to the group. We huddled around the plastic bag and emptied out its contents: two flavors of sauceless fried chicken and the accompanying pickled radish and jalapeno. Dang, I'll have to come back one day and get the chicken with the sauce. It happens when you get food as a group. No worries. I then did the obligatory Asian thing with the food photos and proceeded to eat. Because the birds had to endure a car ride, there was a concern that the inside of the chicken would become dry or the outside skin soggy. Neither incidents happened as such worries became unfounded. Biting into the drumstick I found myself remembering a YouTube video on how to make fried chicken. The video talked about meat having flavor (from marinating), a topic I just nodded along to. It wasn't something I had ever experienced with poultry until that night - quite the pleasant surprise. The box I got was mixed pieces as opposed to just drumsticks and thighs. Wings are offered if white meat isn't your thing. The texture wasn't oily nor do I recall leftover oil in the takeout container. Between each couple of bites I recommend eating the radish to reset your palate maximizing the enjoyment of your meal. Overall, 10 out of 10. What is it that those basic folks say? I'll be back.
